Elizabeth Fergus-Jean, Ph.D.
Elizabeth Fergus-Jean, MFA, PhD, has focused her career on the transformative and healing power of the creative spirit in her work as a transdisciplinary artist, educator, integrative healing consultant and labyrinth facilitator. At the core of her approach is her deep spirituality, strong eco-consciousness and her love of the natural world and sharing this with others.
A passionate and committed teacher, Elizabeth has taught for over 45 years in a wide range of venues, including the Columbus College of Art and Design, Denison University and Pacifica Graduate Institute, where she was a founding faculty member for the Humanities Program.
Elizabeth’s holistic methodology centers on attuning the mind, body and soul to the elemental rhythms found within nature. She works in a creative, organic and multi-tiered manner.
“I work with each individual with a variety of modalities depending on the client’s particular needs and concerns. This may include incorporating aspects of depth psychology, Sophrology (mindfulness combined with dynamic relaxation), breathwork, archetypal understandings via mythic narratives, fairy tales, and guided moving meditations. As a labyrinth facilitator with over 25 years of experience I do encourage my clients to walk a labyrinth and/or in a woodland area, as a large part of the healing and integration process comes from time spent alone in Nature in quiet reflection. I believe everyone is unique in the ways that they grow, heal, and journey through life. I honor this by being a guide on the side, working together to encourage living a positive life filled with happiness and well being.”
She received her BFA (Phi Kappa Phi) from Rochester Institute of Technology, an MFA in Painting and Design from the University of Washington, and her PhD in the Mythological Studies with emphasis in Depth Psychology at Pacifica.
